AQ6 Calibration & Calculation Services 2015

As previously announced, Marcus aka teramax aka "Who dances with Copters" will offer a complete service for soldering, Calibration & Calculation and setup according to your wishes.

- Soldering all connections as required
- Static calibration (temperature curve)
- Dynamic calibration (Dance with the copter)
- Calculation and preparation of parameter files
- Pre-configuration of Motormix and Radio

You will receive a finished board and the parameter files on an SD card with a brief guide to complete the setup.
This reduces the efforts to less than the usual setup of other flight controllers.

This service is mainly directed at people who already have an AQ.
Later, Paul will add the option in his Flyduino shop for purchases of new AQs, so a flyable board will be shipped.

Hopefully this will help to get your craft airborne in a very short amount of time.

As an additional service Marcus will offer soldering the DIMU connectors to existing AQ6 boards and needed parts for the ESC32 CAN bus upgrade. Please contact him via PM.

This is the way multicopter autopilots should be in the future. You first build or buy the multicopter so it meets the recommended spects and then bolt in the Autopilot, connect the wires, setup the receiver and failsafe the way you like and fly.

Sounds like a good idea - will he come to the UK and do my dynamic calibration of a ~5.5kg X8 for me?

Seriously though, it would be great if at least the static calibration could be done already - the dynamic calibration is obviously very platform (and to a certain degree, location) dependent.

We now have 3 Hexas in the air with pre-calibrated boards by teramax.

They all fly with default PIDs and they are behaving very well, though they are 2 completely different setups.
This one carries a Black Magic Cinema with an AUW of ~10kg:



To me it´s the final proof that Marcus´calibration service works as advertised. Thumbs up!

Wow that video is smooth as silk! Curious why you need two tilt motors for the stabilisation? Is one not strong / fast enough?

I've already bought my AQ so this service won't be applicable for me, but is the idea you can buy a pre-calibrated board direct from teramax, or will the likes of Flyduino and Viacopter stock these pre-calibrated boards for a higher price-tag?

When we planned the gimbal conversion we looked at similar setups which in most cases had 2 motors for the pitch axis.
To be on the safe side we decided to follow that path.

Another advantage is: the roll axis is balanced without the need to use the camera as a counter weight and push it to one side with the lense off center.

At hindsight it was a good decision - I doubt we´d been able to manually tilt the cam down 90deg as smooth as we can now...

Interesting ... are you using two AlexMos boards, or how are you driving two motors simultaneously? Or are you not using AlexMos / similar at all?

Thx, Larry. It´s an interesting experience to get such a monster in the air.

@ David: We´re using a 2axis Alexmos. It can easily handle 2 big motors on each axis.
The pan axis is driven by a servo, directly connected to the camop´s receiver.
