Taranis Mode 1

Postby johannes3154 » Fri Jul 25, 2014 3:44 pm

Hey guys,
i have a Taranis Mode 1 remote and cant figure out how to do the tare:-D.
If i perform the stick commands for the tare the AQ enters the calibration mode, which what i asume is the onboard magnetic calibration, because the leds are flashing till i "dance" with the copter. Stick commands for saving to eeprom also works, but how do i perform the tare calibration?
I ask this because my copter has a strong drift forward and the hud is slight out of level.
I use firmware version aqv6.7.r224.b1400 and groundcontrol 1.4.03
Thanks in advance
Cheers Johannes

hm i think i found the answer in the thread "Re: Onboard Magnetic Calibration".
Do i understand right when i think of tare and onboard magnetic calibration is now one process issued by one stickcommand?

Please check if you have the pitch or roll reversed.
Pitch forward must give you a negative value in QGC (bar moving left).

Thanks man, that was the point, i didn't check that in the gui! I inverted pitch and was able to perform the stick commands.
This would also explain why tare was recognized as onboard mag calibration. Shame on me

okay;-). Somehow i have the next problem now. I didnt recognize the row is reversed in the hud. If i roll the copter to the right the hud rolls left. Pitch matches the hud and the imu orientation is correct (0°).
In the config i only can rotate and flip the imu but i cannot flip one sensor axe.
I hope im not to annoying with my newbie questions, but i didnt found something about that problem in the wiki.

Not a problem but a Feature. ;)
That's something many beginners stumble upon. When you Roll to the right, the horizon Moves to the left.
Think of sitting in a cockpit, pushing the stick to the right, the ground comes nearer on the right, right?
