Fallen at the first hurdle - tiny / empty log files

Info and discussion about the original AQ v6 flight controller

Well a bit of good news, after some fiddling, I seem to be getting reliable 20MB log files for 5 minutes of logging ... have now put it in the freezer and will see if it manages to create a log file for a complete temperature cycle. I think I will order some Transcend 4GB Class 10 cards anyway which should arrive tomorrow.

Cheers :) David

Success! :D I wish I knew exactly what I did to fix it ... but at least it's working now! The only thing I do remember doing is starting a log file from the GCS software, but I've no idea if that then affected the logging on the AQ ...

Is that enough levelling-off with the temperature? That was after 1 hour out of the freezer.

Onto freeze number 2!

You have small "kick" about 180000 in first run at IMU RATE.
It's about 31 deg C ... critical temp.
For sure, repeat this run.

Hi bluuu,

Thanks for your reply. The kick you mention is actually around 25 degrees, but even so, that is enough to require another calibration run?

What about the little squiggles in the ACC values - are they worth worrying about?

Many thanks for your help :)

Symetrical "bubbles"/"squizzes" are acceptable, kicks/drops espcialy at "operation" temp aren't ok
As you see, it makes different value about this temp.

Hi blue,

Thanks for the reply, I will take a close look at my other log files to ensure there aren't any distinct kinks like the one you pointed out.

Thanks again, David :)

Hmmm, that kink was also present in my second log file (when the board had been rotated 180 degrees), at the same point ... any thoughts?

Cheers, David

PS. Have also attached a zoomed section from the first log file which seemed slightly worse than this second one ...

Gyro data, static freeze 1 by comparison – so no. 2 is slightly better ...

Ah you mean it might have shifted a bit in the box ... good point, I will try to wedge the board in a little better on the next temperature cycles. I did think it was a bit of a coincidence though that it happened at almost exactly the same point in time ...

Thanks! David :)
