Another hover throttle question...

Postby pairair » Thu Mar 07, 2013 11:02 pm

I just can't get a stable hover in manual mode, it seems. I've stripped my hexa from gimbal and camera so it's probably a bit overpowered, but still. I've adjusted tx so throttle range is 0 - 1400 (or close anyway). THROTTLE_FACTOR is 0.33 and LOG_RADIO_CHANNEL0 is close to 700 in a manual hover. It's very sensitive around mid stick, one notch up it will ascend, one notch down it will descend. No stable hover in between. Radio is Futaba T7C, s bus receiver. PH is close to fine I think.
I've attached pics of log as well as a link to the log file. Any help appreciated!

Thanks, Pär

Perhaps increase your deadband a bit.

Hi -

Manually holding a stable altitude in hover is difficult, even in 'dead calm' conditions.
If your radio supports, perhaps some exponential around center/700us.
Secondly, you said 'notch', I don't know if you meant that literally - if so, disable the notches on your throttle stick. Each notch is a fairly large change.

Thanks to both of you. I have a throttle deadband of 60.
Yes, I meant it literally... always had it that way, didn't even think about that.
Seems like an easy fix.
