M4 Flip and rotate & motor wiring...

So i have just finished building my lady bird but all it wants to do is flip backwards. I have checked everything however i wonder if i have wired the motors wrong.

I have built the v2 ladybird with the M4 mounted upside down, i have used the v2 configuration file as loaded in the docs. This has the M4 fliped on the roll axis with an IMU rotation of -135 degrees which all makes sense. Now because the front left motor is actually m4 and the front right is m3 do i actually wire motor number 4 to the M4 terminal or does this now get wired to the M1 terminal (because it is where the old M1 was)?

Yes you have the motor order wrong. You can hold the quad in your hand and as you tilt it with the motors running you can tell which motors are not in the correct order because with a little tilt the motors jump to full throttle.

First you need to set it up correctly, motors don´t change as this is taken into account by the flip & rotate function.
In your case it should be IMU_FLIP = 1 (rotate around the roll axis) and orientation should be -45

Thanks - attending to the motor mixing was a new part of the journey...unfortunately I'm still getting frantic hunting...and 20ish seconds of this really heated up the motors?

Hi James - yes...I think...ie the parameter file for the LB ref build??
I'm still missing something...the actual motors are built as either CW or CCW units ... so Motor "A" MUST be a CW config and Motor "B" a CCW actual hardware unit config etc
So how can Pos A be aligned with Port "n" which may or may not be the correct CW or CCW config???
Sorry - brain is spinning like the props are...

after re-reading the wiki on mixing ...IT IS NOT SAFE for use with M4s - because towards the end it addresses the CW/CCW matter by ensuring the ESC's are config'd correctly - this physical option is not available on the standard M4 using the built in drivers???
