Blackout 220mm H FPV Quad...

Postby Jdmagoo » Tue Dec 30, 2014 5:57 am

Just wanted to confirm the following build will be OK for the M4. My intent is to start FPV and have read allot of reviews of the BO frame and it seems very well thought out and strong, which is required for someone like me who has never flown with goggles before. My list is:

- Blackout mini H frame

- Autoquad M4

- ESC32

- GPS Antenna 12mm, 25db

- TM2206 motors

- 5x4 HQ props

- Mobius action cam

- Turnigy 3S 1500mah 35 - 70c lippo

- Sony 960H 800TVL camera

- Dominator HD goggles

- 1.2Ghz Tx Lawmate 1000mw

- 1.2Ghz IBCrazy circular antenna

Im hoping to use my GR12 receiver along with Mennos awesome FW for telemetry and hope that Quatos will work well with this build?

I know that a lot of people are using the KISS ESC's for a quad of this size however i have a few spare ESC32 laying around and hope to use these, can anyone see a problem in using these ESC's with the motor prop combo as listed above?

I understand i will need a breakout board because of the 3S battery so am hoping to see what viacopter will be releasing, my intent is to get use the speed of this quad, then upgrade the arms to 6" and props to 6x4.5 and use a 4s battery which should be quite sporty. So I'm hoping to have a breakout board that can handle upto a 4S battery and CAN, will the viacopter board have these features? Or can a bugsworstnightmare boards work for this?

If anyone can critique the above that would be appreciated

Many Thanks

James

Hi James,
Thats sounds like a really nice BO!
Don't Know it the ESC32 will fit due to their size; let me check and post a pic.

Well, you're the second one today (!) who talked about CAN and small frames....

I assume there has been no thrust measurements for Quatos regarding these motors and props?

James

I hope you are going to use your Blackout quad like the farmer in this video from the Blackout sight.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb3jIIbSc8o#t=31

With just a little bit of work you could have the AQ Blackout quad land on a charging station on the top of the tractor and relieve boredom for thousand of farmers. :D

It would be best to use RTKGPS to have enough precision to land on a recharging station on top of a swaying tractor but the GPS receiver that's on the tractor could be the GPS base station.

James,

One thing you're missing is an expansion board to be able to use brush-less motors. Joerg makes one, but I think he's almost sold out of finished boards and there's also the KISSSYS board. I think Joerg's board is better for this purpose. Finally, there is the N4, which hasn't come out yet. I think this will fit the bill for brush-less motors.

I'm also wanting to do a 250mm FPV. I'm looking at this product as an all-in-one solution for FPV...

Spektrum Ultra Micro FPV System w/ FatShark
http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Defa ... =SPMVS1100

It looks like the Blackout is on pre-sale. I'm not sure I'm going to go with their product though. I might go with the QAV250 instead -- the one from Banggood, not GetFPV.

I'd be wary of the 1.2 VTx since you won't be able to move it a long way from the GPS, and it will probably interfere. Why not go 5.8g?
