The little micro's are very satisfying, you can build up a new machine in a hour with CA. You plug the numbers in the Quatos calculator and it fly's well the first flight.

You can hand hold with relative safety to see if you've got it all plugged in correctly. Put it on a bed or big pillow for first liftoff. It either fly's well or flips if you hooked something up wrong but no harm done.

I only fly with Quatos but when flying the Octo with PID the tuning for a big octo scaled down and flew the little octo perfectly. This should be the case if going the other direction so it's a perfect test bed.

This morning I got the GPS antenna working and took the little M4 proto out for a walk.
Great fun, after 1 min the hAcc was down to 70-80cm and could sustain a nice position hold. Some tuning on the throttle factor and a tiny change in the quatos am2 made it very nice. (it is a tad heavy due to the HoTT receiver, flying weight now 49 grams, but full navigation capable)

Using the HoTT radio, waypoint recording and waypoint editing I could let the M4 fly a small mission and got it to repeat with very good results.
~6 min to 3.3V on 1S 300mAh 65C or 1S 380mAh 25C

Pretty neat Menno,

I hope that the receiver manufacturers realize there's a market for just the receiver. It would be trivial for them to come out with a satellite size receiver.
