Sometimes the motors wouldn't start direct, only on second try


Maybe you can rise the start voltage a little bit.

I'm set the start voltage to 3 V (max ?) and the start align voltage to 2.4 V. Now it's better , but not solved. In AQ misc. settings, the Min PWM is 1220 and Motor start PWM is 1220...

Hi Ralf,

you can try to make some small changes:
BAD_DETECTS_DISARM 50
MAX_PERIOD 20000

I would try to increase start align voltage a Little more but reducing start voltage (since a voltage that high will produce a lot of thrust in idle).

I've noticed your ADVANCE is pretty low (when thinking of what I've used on MN3510-15 and what I have with my 4006 size Motors). Maybe you want to try and re-calibrate your ESC32 to the Motor/prop combination with a new advance Setting (you should recslibrate when you Change that param!).

Your 'screen-picture' Shows you have Default values for ESC PWM Input
PWM_MIN_VALUE 750
PWM_LO_VALUE 1000
PWM_MIN_START 1100
PWM_HI_VALUE 1950

So, why did you change Settings in FC?

Well, I don't know this motor and there is no rule of thumb (at least none that I know of).
For the MN3510-15 I've used 16, on my Tarot T4006 it's 25, on AIR 2213-920 I'm using 21 and for some old Turnigy 2215 - which I've used for testing - it was 20 degrees.

When I start tuning I change START_VOLTAGE, START_ALIGN_VOLTAGE and ADVANCE until the motor starts on each START command (using either CLI or AQ ECU), I try this sequence (START/STOP) quite often to see if it starts on each position without problems.
If this is o.K. I start some calibration runs (different SWITCH FREQUENCY, and/or other ADVANCE settings) to look for the best suited parameter set.
When I think its good then I do some START/STOP commands again. If the motor still starts fine the parameters are suited for a test flight.

Only a Short success...
The motor reach only 4200 rpm later in run, only if the calibration current is set to 30A. According on ecalc website, the motor draws only 18A at full power on 3S...if am run the calibration with this 18/20 A, the motor runs later only till 3500 rpm...and Hoover throttle is 3000/3100 rpm...
Someone ideas....

Be sure to set all ESC32 parameters to default, then change as needed and start a calibration run.
Be warned: I had HUGE spike currents when calibrating the MN3510-15.

Yes, checked back with ecalc a few minutes ago: it gives you ca. 18A at 5000rpm.
So, what are your setting for the overall current limiter and the calibration current when you start?

What about using 30A for overall and 20A for virtual current limiter? Be sure to run the RPM2VOLT calibration first, save params to ROM and then start virtual current limiter calibration.

Post results (.txt file) here for review.

I test various settings of timing/switch freaq./start_voltage and so on....nothing helps...only till 4100-4200 rpm :(
Am set all Parameters to default, then change some as needed and run the calibration....one result in the esc32.txt attached
Tomorrow i solder a simple BLHeli ESC to the motor for test,if it possible to run the motor higher with it.

Try and increase START_VOLTAGE and START_CURRENT

Usually when a motor fails to start, it is because the starting voltage and current is set too low.
