Yea not to preclude the use of the DIMU, just an idea to perhaps narrow down the problem. I had issues with an early DIMU prototype and code (needed more filtering on the GYOs to fly with PID controller), but a lot has changed since then. You don't have to dismount the DIMU board to try it. But I'd start with fresh default settings.

I have no idea about the attitude deviation, sorry... never seen that. My initial suspect would be calibration or perhaps vibrations. What does ACC Magnitude graph in telemetry view show when you move the board around to different orientations?

I just loop the string around the MR and have it rub against the motors. Tighten the string so it can dampen the vibrations of the motors.

Max's idea about using AIMU firmware makes sense. Without the 6S ESC v3 I will not be able to use the AQ DIMU the way it's really setup to use because my motor props need 6s to perform properly.

It will take a while to do the calibration of the board but it should be done anyway.

Just to bring this thread to a conclusion, it would seem this problem was caused by excess vibration. I've now reduce the vibration by a combination of balancing the props further and using anti-vibration grommets and this problem has disappeared.
