Impressive stability in maiden flight, but...!

Postby qalid » Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:57 pm

Hi all,

I just came back after maiden tests.. WOW WOW WOW it was an impressive performance!
Extremely stable hex bird, I tested Alt hold and it worked perfectly.

However, based on previous experiments (this was a new design), I did change some of the default tuning parameters as shown:

The first flight was spot on! After landing, I changed the battery pack (I did use 4K mAh in first flight) to 5K, similar pack though (same vendor).

The second attempt was bit weird :? , the copter took off nicely and even with Alt/Pos hold on, it kept on gaining/loosing height for no reasons! At times, it went back to normal (like first flight) but then again there was little mess going on overall..

-I must mention that it was bit windy in the 2nd flight as compare to the first. But relatively close conditions, 20-30 minutes gap.
-I have logs for both flights.. Videos coming up shortly

Any thoughts?
Thanks everyone!

One more thing guys, for someone who has tested things in 6.6 (today)
Do you suggest to move on to 6.7?
