So, in summary, it looks that there is a potential 18650B solution that could double flight time compared with classical lipos. But the cost can reach an order of magnitude higher.

Below some more data playing with different configurations of cells & number of packages to reduce the intensity of each cell.
I´ve bought a set of 16 cells to play with several configurations. I want to try a 4/4 conf (4s x 4p) that theoretically will lead to 1 h flight in my small 1Kg copter. Attached is the excell file If you want to play other confs. (bat data come from Panasonic specification perfo).
BTW, can we use a 5s battery on AQ without voltage adaptor?

The max input voltage to the AQ recom regulators are 18 volts. You can swap out the 2 recoms with digikey PN 945-1053-ND. This will give you a max input voltage of 32 volts but will limit the current output to 1 amp which may be an issue if using the board to run sevo's, bluetooth, etc.
If your not good at soldering I would recommend cutting the old Recoms at the base, so you can heat each individual lead as you remove it from the board to prevent overheating anything trying to get all three leads hot enough to lift it out. Chip Quick works well to remove all three at once.
You will need to have a V2 board or a V1 board that has had R4 updated to 8.45k so that the correct voltage will be read.
I've on installed those Recoms on my last 2 board's and I think that is what Bill did also.
As I previewed this I see Bill beat me, well extra stuff anyway!

Hi,
is there an image on how to make 4s4p 18650 batteries with cable for balancing cell when charging?
