Return home problems

Postby HeliHenkie » Sat Dec 15, 2012 12:44 pm

Hi all,

I'm trying to get RTH to work, with unpredictable success.
My GPS lock is solid. RTH does work, sometimes.
The only thing that works all the time is the yawing to the original orientation.
When engaging RTH my quadcopter orients the way it was when the home point was set, but then ...... Nothing happens.
My machine just drifts with the wind.
Of the 40 tests about 5 times it worked.

Does anybody recognize this behaviour and find a solution?
At the moment I'm flying with 6.6 rev37#2.

Best regards,

Jan Willem

Hi Jan,

I've always had trouble with RTH in a mission. If you don't load a mission then the default mission is RTH and that seems to work most of the time if the machine is flying well.

are you triggering RTH by the flight mode switch or the RTH/Set Position switch?

RTH should work if you have not uploaded a mission and trigger it via the flight mode switch (ie, Normal ->Position Hold->Fly Mission)

Jan

I had that same problem when I switch to r 76 on the quad but not the octo. When I tried to go back to r 42 it did not work. The motors would start but not respond to throttle. I change to a different FTDI and loaded r 76. This time r 76 works perfect in return to home.
Try reloading the firmware I guess.
