The DIMU´s main advantage is a better pressure sensor - but it also has the advantage of using a integrated ACC/GYO chip - that in terms mean better alignment of those 2 sensors.
In terms of performance, I cant feel any difference between analog and Digital sensors, apart from the fact that pressure based altitude-hold (without GPS) is working much better with the new sensor.
The DIMU mounts with a expansion board that goes on J1 and J2 on the AQ6 board. Besides supporting the DIMU, it also has a CAN transceiver and I am working on making serial 2 available too. The DIMU also has an eeprom chip for storing calibration parameters.
As for calibration, the simple procedure is meant to get you flying in a short time. But for highprecision it will still be recommended to go through the full calibration procedure.
I had some questions on how long V6 will stay available. The basic fact is that we have them in stock. But we have been able to realize some cost-reductions on this last V6 batch, and that means we will drop the price quite significantly on it (probably to 299E including VAT - not settled yet)
