External signaling what is needed?

Hi,

just had a look at the Wiki and saw, that now external signaling is possible without any additional electronic using the M ports.
I am planning to use CAN for my ESCs, an AlexMos Gimbal, so there will be penty of ports available, this is not the issue.
I will be using 4S.
But I have still a few questions:
* do I need to use a special type of LEDs? Would these work: 15cm RGB 5050 3in1 LED Strip, IP65
* do I need any additional parts to drive the LEDs? Those are 12V, I assume I need some part to get the 12V fro my main battery.
* what is the difference between LED1 and LED2 as output? Is LED1 for Disarming/arming status, and LED 2 for autonomous status?

Any clarification would be appreciated.

I have 12v LED strips powered with a 12v reg and with the grounds connected to a ULN2803. The LED signal pins connect from the AQ PWM ports to the ULN2803 and switch the ground which turns the lights on.

Here's a diagram (from arducopter) but the principle is the same.

Hello All,

Can I dublicate status LEDs (Power, GPS, Ready, Debug) by additional LED? I mean I need connect them directly to LED or there is another possibility?

Uses an Arduino and WS2812 LEDs. You can configure what (and how) to be displayed.
