qgroundcontrol.exe V1.40 crashes

I downloaded unzipped and copied the files on a folder of my laptop W7 64Bit. I try to start qgroundcontrol.exe with admirights but it immediately crashes. Anny hint?

Hi Andi,

BtMmHook.dll is part of the Broadcom Bluetooth driver. Why it's crashing there, I don't know. You could try a few things...

Is this the first time you've tried using QGC? If not, it might help to delete the settings file (search for QGroundControl.ini in your user folder).

Also if you have used it before, did you by any chance enable the auto-reconnect option? It might be trying to connect to a non-existing COM port. Deleting the settings file should fix that as well.

Try disabling BT before starting QGC. You could also see if there's an updated driver for your BT device.

You could also try the experimental QGC 1.5 version. It has a whole new serial communications library under the hood, which may help -- ftp://ftp.autoquad.org/3/334693_22529/g ... 1.5.A6.zip

Hi Andi,

the crashing library is part of a Broadcom (Widcom) Bluetooth installation.
Do you have any other problems with BT? Is it a Lenovo with integrated BT?

Wow really quick response!
Yes I tried to use version 1.4 for first time. (1.3 is still working)
And indeed this Sony has a problem with the internal Bluetooth module. I never got the right driver for it.
So I’ll check with QGC 1.3 weather the auto reconnect option is selected. And I'll try the other things as well.

Hello,
I removed this setting file QGroundControl.ini > Version 1.4 and 1.5 is crashing
I uninstalled the software including BtMmHook.dll After reboot I checked there is not any longer tis dll on my laptop. > Version 1.4 and 1.5 is still crashing

Strange, not sure where this is coming from. 1.3.0 works fine? I'm just looking over the changes since then and can't see anything in 1.4 which affects base functionality. msvcr100.dll is distributed with QGC, but it's the same versions we've used for a long time. You could try renaming the one in the QGC folder, so it uses the dll in your system path (assuming you have one). But I have a feeling that's not it... I'll keep thinking about it, but not sure what else to try at this point, sorry.
