I never used LPD8806 strips so I can not help here.
What error do you get when compiling? Does the Mav2Hott from the trunk compile?

they are the errors, i have done what you suggested and it does compile now, unfortunately my LEDS still dont work.

But a problem for another day

Sorry about the abs path. I encountered Errors when using relative paths due to another mavlink lib in Arduino.
So best is to use the abs path. That makes sure, the mavlink libs you Need are used.
