Autoquad @ 5/6 S with new regulator?

Postby jhoexp » Thu Jun 06, 2013 5:37 pm

I have been using autoquad @4S for a few weeks, but now I need to switch to 5S to have more thrust from my setup (Hexa with Dualsky XM5010-te9 390kv with 15x5.5 props).
I understand that the max voltage for standard Recoms is 18.5V, so, is it ok to change them with this Traco TSR1-2450 that Mikrokopter sells?
https://www.mikrocontroller.com/index.p ... 667530f55a

It's rated up o 32V and looks almost identical.
Any other modification to make to the board?

(I will power only the board and the 3dr telemetry from the recom (no servos)... is 1A enough?)

Found also this Recom here that fit:

L- series with bent pins, so it should be identical to the standard one that came with the board.

Is it ok to just swap the recoms, right?

I've done it before to fly 5S without problem.
