OSX 10.8.3 and FTDI (and eventually to XBee)

I just got a MacBookPro and was starting to install QGCS without any issues.

In order to connect to the AQ FC I am using a FTDI on USB, but it won't show up in the QGCS.
Is there a drive that I need to install?

I understand the USB FTDI should show up under /dev/tty.usbmodemXXXX but I don't see anything.
Can someone point me into the right direction...?
