I should try a range test but a haven't yet. It starts to have problems now at around four hundred feet with one antenna inside the house hanging in a window and the octo flying close to the ground. I'll check it tomorrow with altitude and a clear LOS.
I connect a bluetooth dongle and a 3D Air modual to a 5 volt servo battery and connect my Android to the octo that way.
It should not hurt anything to connect them together and try using one at a time but I doubt it would work.
