I've added a new experimental Linux distribution to the mix (link in first post). This should theoretically work on "any" relatively recent/updated Linux system. I've tested on a couple "virgin" Linux installs that have no development tools installed, both based on Debian-style Linux (Ubuntu and Mint). Build environment is Linux Mint 17.2.

Text-to-speech is built-in, and there are some short instructions included for getting it set up on your system (uses Festival TTS).

I'd be very interested in anyone's experience with this version.

Also for anyone building their own on Linux, I've updated the main Readme in the Git repo with much simpler instructions for building with TTS enabled.

Cheers,
-Max

Hi Max: yes I´m using NEXT aqv.7.1.1883. About this Ch8 issue:
I´ve checked with telemetry and when I set RC dataset it says "error, unknown dataset requested" ("Radio channel update" is ON) . Any other dataset works properly.

In the image below shows the Ch8 working for "passthrough". It works also for "Gimbal Til". So Ch8 is being recognised by AQ.
By the contrary it doesn´t work for any of the table below: AH, PH, Mission, WP recording, etc.
I hope it helps you to isolate this small issue.

I´ve been flying with this QGC version and fw aqv.7.1.1883.
In general all worked VERY WELL. It was really a big pleassure flight this morning. Thanks for that Max!.

Some sugestions for future improvements:
- In mission planner I miss a "default" mission values (similar to that of the Aqgcs). Now you need to fill all boxes by hand.
- When landing, YAW rotates randomly even if it´s set as a fix Yaw value. This happens only if previous WP yaw is set "relative" (negative value as yaw). If previous WP has fixed YAW (not relative) then it works well.
- I´d suggest to draw the red line of the flight path thicker. Under the sun it´s difficult to see.
- Go Home doesn´t work yet in Mission Screen
- It should me nice to print the distance between consecutive WP´s

Hi Angel,

I need some way to recreate what you're seeing... can you send me your onboard params perhaps? Do the other switch indicators work correctly, only AH has the problem? It's strange... eg. my AH switch is set to zero (mid) position, and it always lights up when the Tx is off (since the channel default is zero).

All: Can anyone else recreate this issue?

Thanks for your other suggestions, those all make sense. I'll check on the landing heading bug... I think yaw setting is ignored for landing type WPT so it uses whatever the last setting was, but I have to check.

Cheers,
-Max

Hey folks, pretty quiet here, I guess all OK?

Surprisingly, the Linux version download count almost matches the Mac version -- has the Linux version worked for anyone?

I'm not sure if I should spend time doing new Linux builds for future updates, or not. I can assume no news is good news, but that's not much to go on. ;)

Thanks,
-Max

I know that it worked fine for kjeld and matthias.

I will ask them to give some feedback on it

Hi Max,

do you know if it is possible to run it on Raspbian Jessie on a RPi2, preferably RPi3?

I've developed an add-on board for the Raspberry Pi which allows to use TFT modules with LVDS interface directly. I would like to run QGC on a Linux ground station which could be easily powerd by a 3S Lipo (since I could use a display with higher backlight brightness as in tablets or notebooks).

Here are some pics of the unit in action. The display is our LQ101K1LY05 - a 10.1in VA panel with WXGA resolution (1280x800 pixels):

Jussi, thanks, good to know!

Joerg, I have no idea and don't have a Pi... try it. ;) Looks like a cool project there. I think Jussi was also recently asking/talking about running QGC on a Pi.
