Hello,
Today i have tried the new Android GCS. First i have to say i really like the new GUI. Looks way better and improves the usability by quite a bit. However i found a few irregularities. Might be because i am still on 6.6 R19 but still i would like to know if that is the case.
1. I put takeoff and some waypoint. Takeoff to 10 meters (relative altitude) with 1 m/s vertical velocity. 0 Loiter and then to a waypoint 50 meters away. Works perfectly with 1.5.8. Well with the new one it shot up and sideways quite fast. Loaded the mission in 1.5.8 and the value of the Vertical speed was at height and the value of height was at speed. So it was a takeoff command to 1 meter with a speed of 10 m/s. That explains the behavior.
Now my question is if that is related just to r19 that i am using or is it a bug in the new GCS where the values are in the wrong place (or under the wrong label).
I exchanged the values in 2.3.3 (1 for height and 10 for speed) and it worked as expected. So i assume the fields are just labeled wrong.
2. After a mission with takeoff, 2 waypoint, return to launch i put a landing command. it executes perfectly up to the landing part. It would not initiate landing. I assume that is because i use R19. I imported the mission in 1.5.8 and when i try to edit the return to launch point it crashed the app. So i assume there is a difference in the code from 1.5.8 to 2.3.3. Also assuming that is related to R22... but i cannot confirm at this point. The same mission created in 1.5.8 executes perfectly.
Everything else worked ok as far as i tested but spend most of the day just playing around with missions and tuning the speed :p It flies perfectly with about 40 kph atm working on making it go even faster but i need better motors and bigger props.
So hopefully somebody can tell me what is up with the above points. Also if somebody has the hex file for r22 i would really appreciate if they could give it to me. I am to lazy to compile the code myself. Although if nobody has it i will have to do it
Thanks.
