Hi Pat,

The PIDs in the screenshot are probably from my simulator (HILS) setup. Modeled after a small 250mm quad. It has very accurate "sensors" with little noise. :)

I have a very strange proplem with my stick input on yaw
I need a super smooth stick input for aerial filming and my quad behaves different and not reliable on left and right inputs

no stick input
...it hovers stable and straight

very little left stick input
...after the deadband it starts smooth

very little right stick input
...after the deadband it does a small jump (very noticable on video) and then it starts to go slow...but never as slow as a left stick input

so I rechecked my radio setup...all well centerd and limits are on 700
the expo I use on the tx is also correctly centred
also checked the telemetry...the quad is well balanced ...on pitch/roll and yaw

so I tried the the new option to lower deadband of yaw in the Ground Control ...lowered it to only 2
and now something very strange happens...if I yaw very slow left it goes to slowley to the right!!!
if I go to the right it still does that jump and then goes to the right
that means if I keep on giving slow left stick input the quad will do slow circles on the right side
if I put the stick centred it will hover staright...this makes no sense to me!

I have never experienced something like this and my only guess this is a software problem somwhow? any ideas?

thats a hover and some slow, later faster yaw inputs
larger inputs are fine but everything inside or around that deadband is not good at all

what kind of props are you using ? from log looks like MR fighting to keep heading so ... maybe there is some different between CW and CCW (spotted on e.g. some RCTimer props)

hmm...its actually 2 tiger cf props and 2 falcon cf props (wich are the exact same shape...as far as I know they are rebranded tiger props or vice versa) I normally dont mix them but this time I did because I thought it really doesnt matter
but it was a bit gusty today maybe that explains the fighting, will try tomorrow morning with no wind
also change props to see if it makes a difference

I also changed the angle to 3 degrees of tilt to have more yaw force...I will check the angles again, but normally I take care its very exactly tilted
its a large quad and has way to little yaw controle for my taste using AQ ...I allready doubled the yaw motor outputs

but in any way...even the worst tuned copter wouldnt yaw right on a left stick input and then stop with no stick input...so strange

so I tried another m4 with the old 52fw ...same settings
and this frame/motor/prop/esc combo has no problem at all on yaw now

any ideas?
