Well no damage done, but you do need one for it to work. There's also a quick hardware hack you could do on an X4R-SB so it doesn't require an inverter, if you happen to have one of those. Very hard to do on an X8R though. viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4256

I made this one (the same in the wiki) in CMS for my Futaba T14 and RX R7008sb. Last firm R449. No problem.
