Safe Guards and GPS errors....

Postby Jdmagoo » Mon Feb 23, 2015 6:02 am

Just interested to know what safe guards are in place when dealing with GPS errors. For example,

If i take off with a strong GPS signal and then fly around in DVH mode, what safe guards are in place if the GPS drops off and instantly develops a position error of lets say 200m out? I know from experience the craft doesn't try to fly to the new position, but what is the tolerance here? How much GPS error will the FW or kalman filter allow before it disregards the input?

Just trying to understand some of the intricacies of the FW

Many Thanks
