FW + native HOTT compatibility

Postby leopold1 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 8:21 am

Just a question concerning the available FW versions with HoTT integration on the ftp server.
Are these compatible with the AQ boards when not using HoTT?
I want to try this fw but don't have HoTT.

Thx

I got that question a lot lately, the fw does have a timeout for checking HoTT capability, so it should work. I will however make a param version where you can enable or disable HoTT. That would be safer but I know that already some brave persons fly with it, without HoTT telemetry.
But... be very careful, I did not test it myself and cannot guarantee the correct working.

The current version is updated to r399 and introduced a param (TELEMETRY_HOTT) where you now can use the firmware with or without hott support
Will update it in the download section, but the direct link is:

ftp://ftp.autoquad.org/3/334693_22529/a ... u_r399.zip
and for an AIMU version AQ6 r1
ftp://ftp.autoquad.org/3/334693_22529/a ... u_r399.zip

Release notes AutoQuad experimental FW + HoTT telemetry add on

AutoQuad experimental r399 + HoTT jun 2014
In this release:
~ Updated to AQ7-r399
~ No HoTT updates, but introduced a param: TELEMETRY_HOTT. Set on 1 (default) is HoTT telemetry enabled, set on 0 HoTT telemetry is disabled.

All other features will work including current sensor support, GEOFence, follow me and tap to go (android app >=0.3.5), auto disarm when armed and not flying within 60 sec

Thanks Menno for your job. I like it.
I saw in android a windows for quatos but licenced. Is it possible to get it or is it private ? Ditto in the wiki.

No sorry, for the moment the quatos attitude controller is not public available. The params are placeholders in the firmware but the public (and HoTT) firmware does not include the code.
I can't tell when news about quatos can be expected.

I can't tell the details, but that specific code is and will not be open source. It replaces the attitude PID controller in the firmware with something very special and that is licensed. I'm sure in due time details will come.
