Flight with lost propeller, see video not AQ but WKM

Postby plexus » Sun Dec 08, 2013 6:49 pm

My question is to know if the team studying a solution to continue to fly with a propeller lost without to finish by a crash ?
See how fly my hexa WKM with one propeller out.
I would been very happy to get the same results with my AQ6.

Have you tried the AQ6 on that frame with one prop disconnected?

Cheers

Yes of course, same conditions with AQ6. Impossible to take off. The hexa crash immediatly. Try it , you will see.
My hexa is in "I".
May be others pilotes could test.

I have flown my Hexa with one prop off but it has to be very light. It basically ends up being a very over weight quad. I doubt that the DJI Hexa would fly if it was loaded as a working machine. Even the machines you see doing the fast spin are basic machines carrying nothing. I would only expect a Octo to provide any kind of margin of safety. Not sure about Y6 and X8 but surely not a loaded Hexa.

Hi Steve,
The first time I loose a propeller with the WKM that was only with a Gopro. My WKM or AQ6 are with hexa frame 55cm, not big, weight 2,2 kg with accu and gopro.
Have you try to take off with your hexa (one prop off) ?
I am afraid to break my camera if uav crashes after losing a propeller in flight.
At that time I know that WKM dont crashes.
With AQ6 in hexa that is the crash, I confirm .
I am very disappointed.
Do you think if the frame was in X, will be better ?

It would be interesting if you would take off the opposite side prop also to see if the problem is it cannot go low enough in power to prevent the flip. I could see where a large prop with lots of thrust even at low rpm could be too much for a balance operation.

Hi,
tried that morning with the the prop of the opposite side off, the result is the same but it shift on the back on the other side. Cannot take off.
I believe the pb is in the algorithme.
Please the team solve that .
