Compiled firmare repository - latest and historical builds

Greetings,

You can now find many pre-compiled versions of the AutoQuad firmware at our public FTP site: ftp://ftp.autoquad.org/3/334693_22529/aq-firmware/

UPDATE Dec-2014: Also try the new firmware wizard which gives you access to all the firmware on the FTP site.

An automated build system is in place, so new versions should appear automatically in the "experimental" folder. Some previous versions can be found in the "beta" and "stable" folders. Builds are provided for all currently (or soon-to-be-) available hardware.

As a brief hardware reference:
  • board-6.0 the original beta AQ6 release
  • board-6.1 is the October 2012 release with the 8.45K resistor.
  • board-6.x-dimu-1.1 versions are for AQ6 with the DIMU add-on.
  • board-8.4 - removed, use board-8.5 instead.
  • board-8.5 is M4 black beta board before or after radio fix (wire mod)
  • board-8.6 is first M4 production board, December 2014, aka M4 v2.

ESC32 builds are now also automated and can be found in ftp://ftp.autoquad.org/3/334693_22529/esc32-firmware/

Cheers,
-Max

Nice :)
Can you also post a compiled version of the batcal tool?
I'd like to try it out but couldn't compile it (need libs).

Hi Max,

sorry, i am not the man you are looking fore, but i underpin your idea of nightly builds.
In opensource GIS environment nightly builds are very common. The side from Tamas Szekeres
http://www.gisinternals.com/sdk/ is my favorite side in the context of MapServer
and GDAL. Perhaps Tamas can give some hints to build a stable nigthly build system.

Thanks for this Max, a nightly build mechanism would be a great idea.

There seems to be a problem with r187 and higher when writing parameters to ROM and then restarting the AQ. Upon restart, the AQ will hang/crash/not send any Mavlink data. Sometimes it will crash right after writing to ROM (before a restart). When it crashes after the restart, the LEDs might indicate that everything is normal (log being written, etc). But it won't send any mavlink data or respond to radio input.

Anyone else seeing this? I've reproduced consistently on 2 AQs and narrowed it down to the changes in r187 (if I revert just those changes, the problem goes away).

I've sent Bill a note, but consider this a heads-up and/or a request for confirmation.

Problem confirmed, fixed. If you downloaded the r193 compiled version from G-code site, please do not use it! I just uploaded r195 there, properly compiled and working.

Hi Max,

I just flashed my AQ with the latest build and am searching in QGC for the headfree mode. Can you please describe how to enable or where to find it?
maybe I'm just blind XD
Kind regards,
Tobi ;)

Hi Tobi,

There's no UI for it in QGC yet (will be in 1.3 final). For now, use the Onboard Parameters window to edit NAV_HDFRE_CHAN. Check the docs for details. And let us know how it goes with r195. :)
