I use a Spectrum transmitter module (X1TXN from Horizon Hobby) attached to the trainer port of my Aurora. It outputs a PPM signal to the module so I can use any Spectrum receiver including Orange satellites.
You can select in the Aurora which transmitter and model it should use.

Was a bit tricky to match the channels and tinker with endpoints etc. but it works.

Maybe this could be an option for you?

Hi!
I'm planning to use another PPM firmware mod with OPTIMA 7:


And one more aproach emerged: Hitec compatible 8ch receivers with PPM at HobbyKing.
Unfortunately there is no telemetry on Minima compatible receivers, hence I still want to test the Optima mod

Regarding the above-mentioned modification, I can now say it works without any problems!:)
And as a bonus You will get 9 channels instead of 7 from OPTIMA7:)
P.S.
I've connected modified Optima7 PPM output through 1k resistor (just in case).
