Diode for reverse polarity

Postby Mlozano » Thu Nov 14, 2013 2:39 pm

How many Amps need a serie diode for prevent the reverse polarity? is it enough with a 1 amp (1N4007 diode)? Can I control the low voltage (-0.7V) with the voltage level alarm?

Thanks in advance

I used 11 one amp diodes to reduce 28 volt battery voltage down to less than 21 volt. The diodes did not get warm with the load of the AQ board. The AQ board also powered the 3D radio and the RC receiver.

the AQ6 = 70 mA
RX GR24 = 15 mA
1 esc = 20 mA (without motor)

3DR radio= ?
I think that 1A diode is OK. 8-)
The diode lose 0.6 V. (Lipo voltage - 0.6= X)
