Matching log files to a particular AQ board

Postby nikivan » Wed Jul 17, 2013 2:47 am

Is there a way to determine if a log file was created by a particular AQ board? I have couple boards and a mix of log files, and I'd like to find out which log was created by which board. Thanks.

Not directly that I can think of. If you fly with different voltage batteries then that would be one way. Or if one frame has a different motor config. You'd still need to look at or dump each log though. I just sort the ones I want to keep into folders by board. What I do wish sometimes is that one could determine the fw build number from the logs... because I'm definitely not organized enough to keep track of that, yet.

Thanks, Max. These are calibration logs, so I guess I will have to repeat the freezing / dancing procedures.

BTW, is it possible to determine (by looking at markings on the board or the chips) which one is newer? I could then match the logs since they where created few months apart.

I wonder if you could look at the rate gyro outputs and see a relationship between the previous logs and a current test at the same temperature. You might see a certain pattern in voltages between xyz that only relates to each of the boards. It may be as simple as looking at the voltages and they would match up. These would be LOG_VOLTAGE 0 1 2 for x,y,z. Rate is somewhat sensitive to position but at least you'd have a shot since the output in theory would only be different with movement.

The spacing between the three temperature logs would tell me which board the logs came from.

Larry, your correct. The 2 sensors aren't very accurate so their can be a good difference between boards.

Recent versions of the FW should print board serial number to log file.
