Recalibrating when changing geographic location

Postby nikivan » Sat May 25, 2013 5:41 am

I live on the West Coast and I am planning a trip to Europe. I'd like to fly my AQ over there, and I wonder if I need to rerun the dynamic calibration with different magnetic inclination first?

Thanks,
Nick

No, you will just need to set the correct inclination and declination for the new flying location.

!!! SPAM !!!

I'm getting ready to do the Sparkfun contest in Boulder Co and I've looked up the zip code of where the contest is and used this to calculate the declination and inclination.
http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag-web/#declination

I used a online converter to get the angle to a decimal value to use in the edit parameters special setting window in the QGC.
Hope this is right.
