acceptable vibrations?

Postby codeforge » Thu May 16, 2013 6:39 pm

Hi,
could anyone say me if these results are acceptable? I do an hovering flight of 10 seconds, with xoar propeller, hexa from flyduino frame. Is it a good result or i must provide less vibrations?

Thanks

ACC X&Y are very high.
I attached my logs for you. I think thats about how good it can get, maybe better.

Cheers

I agree, that look high. Chistof's look nice. I also posted a comparison here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2318#p13047

and now? it's better i think, but is good for make a stable flight?

i try this "sandwich" of dampers, and i use balanced tmotor 3506 and 13x65 XOAR propellers.

Can i do more and better?

any suggestions?

thanks again

Try it w/out the dampeners (or have you already?). You can see on the graphs how the really bad vibrations come and go, which is probably your control tower oscillating back/forth on the rubber. The type/length of standoff can greatly affect vibrations the FC sees.

If your GPS shield/antenna is above the FC, which is what it looks like, that is simply adding to the vibrations (and will probably pick up air movement from the props). I like mounting my groundplane/antenna on separate standoffs so it doesn't affect the FC, plus the extra cage helps protect the FC in case of a crash.

You have good results to start with. As Max says, you should try different legth/material of your standoffs. Sometimes there are harmonics that build op and vanish. Maybe a try without rubbers or just one layer. I had good results with Sorbothane damping when I was experimenting a while ago.

The most important thing is the balance of your mots/props. But that seems to be ok.

Best
