Answers:

1. Could you send me latest hex ? I can't compile myself. (actualy I've got 1.4.1)
2. 4s battery
3. Actualy default settings on escs (current limit 25A, advance 15 but other setting I postet earlier).
4. About my esc32:
Soldered 2x 330uF/25V (low esr) - because i've got wires 27cm long (twisted)

I looked at the cap picture: Do you have the capacitors in parallel?

Also, looking at the specs for MT2814-10, I dont think you should calibrate them to more than 21-22A. If the current limiter is too high, it will allow too much current to the motor, and this can cause unexpected motor stops like it happens on MT3506 - that one works perfectly when calibrated to 15A on 4S (which is the 200W its rated for)

MT2814-10 is rated 350W (though I seriously doubt it will deliver that), so I would suggest to calibrate it to 21A max on 4S (21*16.4 = 344W)

Tiger tests their motors with their own ESC´s, which are basically OEM ESC´s - they have throttle smoothing like stock Hobbywing and Turnigy ESC´s and that will cover up its behavior on a fast response ESC. ESC32 tries to deliver the maximum as fast as possible, and on some motors this causes a stop if the current limit is too high.

I am pretty sure that if you calibrate it to within the factory rating, the motor stop will not happen....

More question:
1. What will be first: current calibration or rpmToVoltage ?
2. Can I set RPM mode on esc after calibration ?

update:

1. test:
Full calibration - rpmtovoltage, next current limiter, calibration current set to 21A , advance set to 10 - no change

2. test:
Full calibration - rpmtovoltage, next current limiter, calibration current set to 21A , advance set to 30 - no change

3. test:
Full calibration - rpmtovoltage, next current limiter, calibration current set to 22A , advance set to 17 - no change (maybe a little better motor "sound")

4. test:
Full calibration - rpmtovoltage, next current limiter, calibration current set to 20A , advance set to 20 - no change

5. test:
Without calibration - only default settings, current limiter set to 20A , advance set to 10 - no change

I don't now what can i do :/ Help ;)

I asked Bill for an opinion, here is what he said:

I think he has to play with the timing and current limiter. There is no way the craft in the video can use / needs 20A for each motor.

The current limiter should be set much lower and it will probably work. Start with 10A and if it works, perhaps 15A. All it will do is limit the throttle increases to keep things sane. I'd also have him use the CLTERMs that he has calculated. If he had a graph output, it would be good to verify their correctness.

If / when he get's it to run with lower current settings, he should try higher advance numbers (up to 25 deg) to see if he can raise the current limiter any further.


So basically you have to play around - in general the Tigers like very high advance - I run all my tigers at 25 degrees - MT3506 I run at 14A on 4S with 1147 props, and have not seen any ill effects.

very good research shown. At that moment nothing said about 10nF caps or signal cable shielding.

I´m now trying the caps without success for the moment. Shielding is the next, but looking to the ESC32 code failure (DIsarm code=3, PWM_MAX_PERIOD) I don´t think this will be solved with shielding
