Hi Max -
Yeah, the heading indicator is calculated from the GPS' Course Over Ground so if the copter is hovering or moving below a certain speed, it jumps around.
I hope I can pin down the cause too. Been looking at the log data and the video over and over; i have not spotted any precursors to the failure. It just seems like the AQ sw or hw stopped mid-flight for as of yet unknown reason(s).
I saw that the stack size was increased in r28. I wonder if Bill and the team have some sort of Hardware In the Loop type of simulator for testing.
My only recent mods to AQ were 2 extra MAVlink messages but they shouldn't cause a stack overflow I would think.
I wish I had been recording AQ "notices" but I was just using the Android app at the field and not the Win GCS. I can't remember if the text-to-speech said anything about heap memory during that flight.
Peter (sandmen), if you are reading this, is it possible to add an option to the Android app to enable saving of all "AQ_NOTICE" messages to local storage?
In the meantime I'll perform a deeper inspection of the wreckage this week.
