I very much like the modular design - this is exactly how to do it right.
Over the past few weeks I had time to think about how to mount the ESC32's myself.
After some back and forth I decided to mount the ESC close to the mount for two reasons.
1.) cooling... the ESCs would get a lot of prop-"wash", than the more convenient location within the mounting plate
2.) maximize distance to FC.
My setup
- ESC32s with 2x 330uF, due to long power wires
- Flyduino Cheeseplate HEXA
- T-Motors 2212, three wires facing inbound
- 8inch or 10 inch props
- heatsinks on both sides glued with Arctic Sliver
- transparent heat shrink
- power wires twisted in mesh tubing
- PWM in mesh tubing
- single wire-ties mount to arm
- ESC32 mounted to Flyduino Motor Mount
