"ADVANCE" & "SWITCH_FREQ"

Postby Fabiano1994 » Wed Sep 02, 2015 10:12 am

Hello

The most parameters of the ESC32 v3 are clear for me.
But the parameters "ADVANCE" & "SWITCH_FREQ" are still a mystery for me.
Is there a way to calculate these parameters or a good "how to" to find it out?

I use the folowing hardware:
- iPower MT4108 700KV
- 15"x5" CF Prop
- 4S 5000mAh LiPo accumulator

Thank you for any answer.

Kind regards

Advance is the timing advance in electrical degrees. Defaults will work fine for most motors - usually the higher the KV, the higher the advance should also be.

Switching frequency is the speed at which the FETS are beeing switched and has an impact on noise and effeciency of the motor.

Again, the 20 Khz default is fine for most motors. Increasing it will make it less efficient but make it run smoother. Equally, Lowering switching frequency makes motors more prone to "whining" but increases efficiency.
