PC manual control

Postby bjhedgeb » Tue Jul 28, 2015 6:50 pm

Hey Everyone,
Is there currently any (easy/convenient) way to manually control the Autoquad using a PC rather than a manual control transmitter.
Ideally, I am looking for some software or work-around that allows for sending manual control commands via PC. Better yet, programmable commands using MATLAB, c++, …
I appreciate the assistance.

Maybe is not what you expect , but to connect my PC to any ESC I just plug a gamepad or joystick to my pc. I read the input through a C++ program (developed in ROS) and send the value via Serial to an Arduino board. The Arduino generate then a PPM signal which is feed to my tx (a spektrum dx6i) through a cable in the trainer plug. On the other side you leave the ESC to the rx connected. You can reallychange that setup to your needs. If I were you I would download a matlab program to connect any arduino board. Then you send the values to the Arduino which use the same trick to drive the ESC.
It works and you are in a half a day already done.

Hope that this help
