Disarmed Esc32 just after motors start spinning

Postby trkygt » Mon Jun 22, 2015 8:55 pm

Hello Everyone,

I am building a quadrotor with Pixhawk and ESC32. Until I did try to ESC calibration everything was working properly. After I followed the calibration steps on http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/initia ... esc-motor/ , I got this problem with ESCs. I can arm them properly but whenever I try motor test or calibration with qgc they suddenly disarm just after motors start spinning. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The first thing you need to do is save the settings file and post it here.

Hi Tarik,
which motor do you use?
What's described on the ardupilot website is just the calibration procedure for a 'typical ESC'. ESC32 is different since you can define these values via parameter (use QGY to do this).

In addition, your 'disarm' may result in the motor loosing sync. That's why you should calibrate the ESC32 for your particular motor/prop combination to give you best performance. The procedure is detailed in the wiki http://autoquad.org/wiki/wiki/esc32/esc32-calibrations/

Hello Joerg,

Thanks for your help. I am using NTM Prop Drive Series 28-30 900kv / 300W Brushless Motors with 9'' CarbonFiber propellers. I repeated the procedure given in the wiki page http://autoquad.org/wiki/wiki/esc32/esc32-calibrations/. Firstly, I could calibrate the new set of motor and ESC successfully. However,I could not manage to do it when I tried to calibrate older ESCs with the new motor and vice versa. The more interesting thing is that when I tried to calibrate the new set again I got the same error. The motor are disarmed after some jigs. Here I posted the putty status screenshot when the bad detect error is 2. I have faced the case when it is 1 , too. Besides, I am using default ESC Settings during QGC Calibration.

Hi Tarik,
what you've posted here is no calibration procedure! Please post the ESC parameters that you've generated for the NTM 28-30.
Since you were using PUTTY already type
SET LIST
at the command prompt after you established connection to the ESC32 and post the result here.

I've posted a command sequence (example) here for the ESC32 : viewtopic.php?f=26&t=3776&start=30#p33309

So please follow the steps until SET LIST and post the result!

Your bat voltage is a bit low. What batt are you using?
You could start telemetry to observe your bat voltage.
