I'm going to try 5S LiPos on my AutoQuad Y6. I have ESC32's and a really compact power distribution board:
The battery leads are about 25cm long (=lead from power distribution board + lead on battery). I have currently 35V 330uF caps (supplied with ESC32) installed near every ESC32.
I read from the wiki (http://autoquad.org/wiki/wiki/esc32/esc ... are-setup/) that one should use 50V lowESR caps when flying 5S. I guess I should change my current caps, then?
I have a few questions:
1) When a cap is considered "lowESR" for this application? What value of Equivalent Series Resistance? I tried searching eBay for 50V lowESR caps but could not find any big enough.
2) What capacitance should I use? I draw less than 10A per ESC (6000mAh juice used in a 8 minute flight).
