manual mode: motors not spinning simultaneously!

Postby qalid » Tue Jan 28, 2014 11:17 am

Anyone faced this before?? Hexa-machine:

At times when I arm the AQ, give throttle in manual mode, some of the motors (random order, not fixed!!) are not running at all instead the ESC goes red. After dis-arming and trying again they all just work! At times, this takes up to 3-4 tries before they all work fine!
Also in manual mode at times, 1 or 2 (random) motors are usually starting to spin little later than others - minor fraction of seconds but noticeable i.e. 4 motors will start rotating immediately, 1 or 2 will follow in little time..

However, if I'm staring/switching to Auto mode (mission/att. hold), motors will run simultaneously as they should!

I've checked ESCs many many times through PuTTy and I know that after several tries they will run just fine.

If you use ESC32 you can raise the start voltage a littlebit in the ESC32 settings.

Like Christof said: try to increase the START_VOLTAGE
I have some rc timer pancake motors that had the same issue, was a bit conservative in increasing the start voltage (default 1.0V). No, increased it a lot and always a perfect start.
Good settings for me:
START_VOLTAGE 2.10
START_ALIGN_TIME 600
START_ALIGN_VOLTAGE 1.5
