JTAG connection?

Postby hyonlim » Mon May 06, 2013 11:58 pm

Hi.
I'm trying to connect JTAG (SWD) to ESC32, but it has been unsuccessful.
What I have tried are Olimex USB JTAG and Keil ULink2 with CMSIS-DAP mode.

If I connect SWD with Keil ULink2, it resets several times (about 10 times per second?), but no connection established.
I tested with different JTAG/SWD speed option in Crossworks, but got same results (I've tried 200, 400, 1000Hz).

Anyone succeed to connect JTAG(SWD) to ESC32 again?
Please describe your settings in detail would help me.

JTAG and SWD are two different interface types and are not interchangeable. AQ uses only SWD with its standard 10 pin 0.05" connector. You will need a SWD interface that is known to work. A cheap option is the STM Discovery board, which has a SWD adapter built in:

Okay. What I meant is SWD because ESC32 only has SWD connector.
Did you connected with STM32F4DISCOVERY to ESC32?

I used these cables to run the ESC or the AQ with the Discovery Kit or a ST LINK. Had to make them myself.

SWD 10 pin Discovery 6 pin
1--------------------1
2--------------------4
3--------------------3
4--------------------2
6--------------------6
10-------------------5

SWD 10 pin STLINK 20 pin
1--------------------1
2--------------------7
4--------------------9
5--------------------12
6--------------------13
7--------------------11
8--------------------5
9--------------------10
10-------------------15
