ESC32 firmware upgrade, boot jumper only option?

What If i want to upgrade the firmware on the ESC32s in the future and they are mounted and wrapped in heatshrink? Is the only option to take of the heatshrink and short the boot jumper?

There is a command in the help menu on the later versions of the firmware which you can switch to bootloader mode from the CLI without the need of shorting the BOOT0 jumper.

So I connect with putty, and put the ESC32 in bootloader mode. No problem... but then how do I update the FW for the ESC32? Disconnect Putty and then connect QGCS and update FW?

Did anyone manage to figure this out, i just broke the terminals off the circuit board and will not be able to short the jumpers. Really would like to know how to do this please

If your ESCs are already running 1.4.1 or higher, you can just use the latest QGC beta (1.3 B2) to flash w/out jumping the pins. It should put the ESC into bootloader mode for you. Use the Firmware Update tab. Older QGCs might also work, you can try it from the ESC32 tab.
