Sounds like the ESC is armed...? :) I'm not sure why else the ESC would respond like that. It does mean the interface is working and tried to put it into bootloader mode via the CLI. Is the green esc light on?

To test directly, download PUTTY, select a serial type connection, enter your COM port and 230400 for the speed, then connect. You should get a > prompt from the esc. Type help and see what happens. Then try typing bootloader.

You have to disarm it first. It won't go into bootloader mode until you do. Why is it armed?

Hmm not sure why its armed the autoquad green led is flashing and GCS says its not armed. Perhaps something strange in the ESC?

I imagine it's armed because it's connected to a powered AQ? Or did I misunderstand you? The AQ doesn't have to be armed for the ESCs to be.

Ok i had the 5v wire disconnected from the FTDI end and had the PWM wire connected to Autoquad where the ESC32 was receiving its 5V. I now have connected the 5v wire back on the FTDI and disconnected the PWM wire and now all is good. Not sure why i did that but thanks for your help i can confirm it transitions into the bootloader via GCS beta 2.

Keep up the excellent work

Cheers
