This is going to be very useful ESC32 firmware for the octo I'm building. I found that the motor starting was not robust enough when I had a different FC then AQ on the octo I built. The copter was very low to the ground and when it started the motors the air flow from adjacent motor would often turn a motor backwards. The motor that is turning backwards would occasionally just oscillate while trying to start and when give out a big cloud of smoke.
I have not had any problem since I switch to the AQ board but I would like to have more consistent starting motors.
