Small X8, first build with 3d printer parts

little update bird finally in the air. Sorry for the quality of the video had to set down the ipad to film.



The flight was in manual. After the first flight recharging the lipo and going up again I started to get a forward drift in manual mode. Like always i was not prepared and didnt have the SD card in for logging. At the same time altitude mode is not really successful yet. It very slowly drifts up or down about 1 meter each direction.

Up to now very happy thought, in general it very smooth in the air and no shakes on a descend. Had arround 18-20 min of flight with the 5s 10000 mAh.

Looking good, Boris.
Does the craft hover at 50%? If not you might need to adjust your throttle scale factor. As for the altitude: you can play with the alt_speed settings.

Would like to use Herks III on it just a little afraid of having them under the AQ FC any takes on that ? Any way of shielding the AQ from the Herks III ? carbon plate between or something else ?

@ Kinderkram it hover around 40% my guess, a small Gopro gimbal its still coming on, since the other gimbal I designed is a failure or more the motors that i choose can't get them to work !

Decrease your throttle scale factor to ~0,62 to make it hover at 50%

Wow, the Klappfixxx is a monster - a bit pricey though.
The best about it: AutoQuad is mentioned as one of the recommended FCs.

Gimbal and VTX installed, lets see what it can do Litte afraid of the construction wanted to pull the gimbal as far forward as possible to get the props out of the picture, but now the prop wash might be an issue.

Hi guys,

little head heavy with the setup instead of balancing it out I wanted to play with the mixer and reduce thrust in the back.
I have the 3510_25 on with 5s and 14 tiger props. Take off weight 4.4kg:

Should I risk it ?

Head heavy (kopflastig) - do you mean front heavy?
If the latter is the case you could try to use the lipo as a counter weight, pushing it further back or mounting it crosswise.

I wouldn´t change the motor mix. Back motors will always have to work harder then, they get warmer and wear out faster than the others...
