Octo flight without two propellers

Postby VIM » Sun Nov 18, 2012 11:16 pm

My friend had a AQ Octo flight today with two propellers removed. It flies without a problem as you can see in the movie.

As soon as he gets an option to post in this forum he will describe his experience with AQ.

This is Ruffio's 'copter? Very nice! I love the huge platform for batteries and so on. And it flies great with 6 motors! Like it doesn't even need the other 2. :) Would like to hear/see more about this setup.

Thanks,
-Max

Yes :). This video should be later ;).
About platform You can read at rcgroups http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1751821.
Difference are:
1. 12'' propeller instead of 10''
2. more powerfull motors EMAX GT2812/10 (too much power)
3. alu profiles 12x12mm instead of 10x10mm
4. FC - in mine ofcourse AQ
5. ready to fly weight is 4.2kg
Film attached by VIM is made by constructor.

We decide that 12x12mm alu profiles is an exaggeration and we will test 12'' propellers but 10x10mm alu.
rcgroups thread includes additional funny #copter atachment: additional engine ;)
If you will have quastions please ask, i'll try to answer.

Welcome Ruffio!
Nice beast you operate there. Good to see the AQ6 acting great on an asymetric Hexa, formerly known as "Octo". ;)

Sorry for the inconvenience not being able to post links - but we had to raise the barriers for spammers.
Feel free to post some chitchat to get the ability to post links.

@ VIM: I've edited your first post to show you how to embed Youtube vids: you only need to use the "youtube" button in the editor and only put the specific number of the yt vids in between the brackets.

Code: Select all
