Which choice of mother board and CPU ?

Hi everybody.
I want to change my old mother board (I5 4 core and intel P7H55 ) by a new one I7 4xxxx an other mother board.
Could you help me to get the best choice. AMD or Intel ?
The goal is to get the best speed in the calculation (calibration aq6).

I´d look at the AMD FX-8350 8x 4GHz at ~170€ as a boxed version.
Best option imo would be an upgrade kit with an ASUS M5A97 mainboard. Comes for less than 320€

Yah, 8 more GB of the Kingston Hyper X RAM cost ~80€
And with the money saved you could think about an SSD for your OS and programs.

Norbert, for the SSD is it plugged on the main board or on a card reader ?

+1 for SSD It's plugs in just like a hard drive (SATA). #1 biggest performance difference you can make. In fact you may not need the new CPU/mobo at all. Keep the old spinning disk(s) for media storage and such.
