Well, they are not bots - they are sorry humans getting paid to spam...We have every bot-countermeasure running, so part from letting admins/moderators approve each new user and post, there is not much we can do. We have people monitoring the site at regular intervals, and we delete and ban all spammers without warning, but stuff will slip through now and then.
We decided to keep things open, so that people could post a question right away. For now, we can mostly keep up with the spammers but if it gets completely out of hand, we will have no choice but to give new users a quarantine period before they can post and let admins sift thru and approve each new post -which might turn out to be more work for us and limit the sites usefulness to the community.
I realize this may be a problem for people signed up for instant notification and tapatalk users as well. But I will let one of the site admins comment on how that particular problem can be solved.
