Thanks guys! I might have to try the 12x6 TE. I did find some people reporting good results with them (it's all pretty subjective though). The 12x3.8 SF doesn't have quite enough pitch to get the full value of these motors... but OK for lighter loads. 12x5 would be perfect. Xoar makes 'em but I can't find them in stock anywhere. $100+ for 3 sets though. Those CF ones from Flyduino look nice... but $140 for 3 sets... ouch. Vs. $33 for APCs.
I've never really liked the out-of-package balancing on APCs very much (I use them on some airplanes), but they do OK with a bit of tape. The weight factor is a bummer though.
What about Zinger wood props? Can't really find anyone flying these on multicopters for some reason. They're cheap (for wood) so maybe they're crap.
